Those wacky werewolves return to take a bite out of everyone in Howling III: The Marsupials, the second sequel to director Joe Dante's cult classic The Howling. Elite Entertainment has put together a very nice DVD package, starting with a well-done 1.85:1 anamorphic transfer. Colors look very bright with only a small amount of grain present. Although this transfer may not be reference quality, for a film of such a low budget it looks very good. The audio is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 and has a very nice directional quality to it. The music, effects, and dialogue are all mixed evenly and concisely with no distortion or hiss present. No alternate Dolby tracks or subtitles are included on this disc. Howling III: The Marsupials boasts a few nice supplements, including a very interesting commentary track by director Philippe Mora (who seems to really enjoy the work he's created), as well as a still photo gallery, a TV spot, and an original theatrical trailer. Fans of this series will be very pleased by Elite Entertainment's work on this B-grade horror title.
